Camco Highlights Low Resistivity Pay Expertise at Ghadames Basin Scientific Workshop

Camco participated in the Scientific Workshop on Geological Studies of Sequence Stratigraphy and the Low Resistivity Phenomenon, sponsored by Nafusah Oil Operations B.V. (NOO), an affiliate of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC). The workshop brought together experts, operators, service companies, and academic institutions from Libya and the international oil and gas sector.

During the event, Camco participated in and co-authored a technical paper with NOO, NOC, and several international companies. The paper, titled “Water Saturation Evaluation in Low Resistivity Formations Using Non-Resistivity Methods,” focused on the use of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) data analysis to evaluate Low Resistivity Pay reservoirs.

The presentation highlighted how integrating NMR data with conventional well log analysis can improve reservoir characterization and support more reliable evaluation of formations that may be overlooked when using resistivity-based methods alone, particularly in the Ghadames Basin across Libya and Algeria.

Camco’s participation reflects its position as one of Libya’s leading oilfield services companies and its commitment to delivering advanced solutions that support the development of Libya’s energy sector.

The event provided a valuable platform for technical exchange, knowledge sharing, and industry collaboration, bringing together key stakeholders from across Libya’s energy sector. Its success reflects the collective efforts of the organizing committee, the Department of Earth Sciences, NOO, NOC, and participating companies in fostering dialogue and advancing technical excellence within the industry.
