Camco Highlights Energy JEEL Initiative at Libya’s National Conference on Just and Sustainable Energy Transition

Camco, Edgo’s oilfield services arm in Libya, participated in the National Conference on Just and Sustainable Energy Transition, bringing together key stakeholders from government, industry, and development organizations to discuss the future of Libya’s evolving energy sector.

Held under the auspices of the Ministry of Oil and Gas and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the conference served as a platform for advancing dialogue on sustainable energy development, innovation, workforce readiness, and responsible industry practices.

As part of its participation, Camco highlighted its contribution to the Energy JEEL Initiative (EJI), a program dedicated to preparing the next generation of Libyan energy professionals through practical training and direct industry engagement.

In partnership with EJI, Camco welcomed five groups comprising a total of 50 energy engineers, providing participants with hands-on training, field visits, and exposure to real operational environments across the oilfield services sector. The program allowed young engineers to gain valuable insight into modern technologies, operational processes, safety standards, and industry best practices that support efficiency and sustainable growth.

Camco’s involvement reflects its commitment to developing local talent and strengthening human capital within Libya’s energy industry by bridging the gap between academic learning and field experience.

The conference also provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the role of industry in supporting a balanced and sustainable energy transition while ensuring that local expertise remains at the center of future development efforts.

As Libya continues to shape the next chapter of its energy sector, Camco remains committed to investing in people, knowledge, and partnerships that create lasting value for the industry and the communities it serves.
